About UsAOFG-India is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) registered under the Public Charitable Trust Act of India 1882, and established in the year 2001. The registered office is in New Delhi. The Hyderabad office is managing the fairtrade and organic certified programmes. Contact person is Mr Gijs Spoor (gspoor@aofgindia.org) AOFG India has set up a Regional Group in Adimali, Idukki district, in the southern state of Kerala. This group is working on coffee and spices in the Western Ghats of Kerala bordering Tamil Nadu. In Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra we work with organic fairtrade cotton farmers in close association with CHETNA ORGANIC (www.indianorganicproducers.org), Textilestation India, Hyderabad and Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills, Kolkata. In capacity building our focus is on participatory approaches and systems thinking. we aim to integrate ecology, economy and society. In quality control and certification we focus on localised standards, farmer-led internal control systems, where farmers are trained to carry out inspections. But we do not stop at the farm gate. Processing is an essential part of product and supply chain development. We are closely associated with expertise centres of food processing, chemical & mechanical engineering. Occaisionally, mobilization of resources and funds is done by AOFG India for its network NGOs. Various international issues such as climate, biodiversity and desertification have been raised by AOFG-India in various policy fora. AOFG conducts technical feasibility studies, preparation of project documents, project review and evaluation studies for various NGOs, donors and government agencies. AOFG-India is also an associate member of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM), Bonn and associated with Agreco Seminars e.V, Marberg, Germany and Both Ends, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
